Welcome to Counselling

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel difficult, especially if you are unsure what to expect. Simply exploring whether it might be right for you is already a meaningful beginning.

Counselling offers an opportunity to be heard, understood and supported without judgement. Working together, we can explore experiences from your past, anxieties about the future, or whatever may be affecting you here and now.

You may have a specific problem, decision or dilemma that you want to work through. Perhaps something in your life feels out of balance, or difficulties keep returning and you would like to understand why. You may simply know that something does not feel right. Whatever brings you to counselling, we can begin with what feels most important to you.

I provide a safe, empathic and confidential space where you can speak openly and explore things at your own pace. I draw on a range of counselling approaches and will work with you to find a way of working that feels comfortable and helpful. Counselling is not something that is done to you. It is a process we take part in together, shaped by your needs, experiences and goals.

Counselling can support meaningful and lasting change. If beginning therapy feels daunting, or you have questions about how counselling works, please get in touch through the Contact tab above. Getting in touch does not commit you to beginning counselling. It simply gives you an opportunity to ask questions and consider whether working together feels right for you. A straightforward conversation may help you decide whether counselling with me feels like the right next step.
